How to Build a Targeted Email List.
Everybody in internet marketing says "the money is in the list". The email list, that is. Why is that? Can't I just do direct selling on my website? Sure you can. But if you were to build a list, you would have a very interested group of people waiting to hear what you have to say!
Getting your sales to convert, takes a lot of work, and of course, you need traffic. Sending traffic to your sales page might get a small conversion rate of about 1-2%. But that means that 98-99% of your hard earned traffic goes away... forever!
Hey, that's almost EVERYBODY! And you will never hear from them again. Now, if before they left your site, you had a way to capture their email address, you would start to build a list. A very good list, because you know they clicked your link for more information, so they are definitely interested in your topic.
Now this list you are building is a very targeted audience, because you already know they have a good interest in your topic or they wouldn't have come this far by clicking thru. That is why you never want to just "buy" a list of emails. So much better to build it yourself, one by one.
This kind of a targeted list will be much more likely to listen to what you have to say. And because you captured their email address, you will get that chance to communicate with these people again and again.
Now this is where the secret comes in: Now that you have a list, it is very important how you treat these people. Don't just pitch sales to them - they will quickly jump off your list. Instead, spend some time building a good, strong relationship with your people, so they will come to like you, trust you, and then, even buy from you. People buy from people they trust sooner than from strangers.
Building a list of "relationships" takes time, but it will be well worth it. Just remember they are real people, like you and me. Really talk to them and give them valuable information in your emails. Even give them some free bonuses that also contain valuable information. However, make sure that what you are sending them is NOT junk! Make it really good stuff, and they will love you for it.
